and gerontology, advancing high-quality ageing care across the
Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Mission
MEAMA is dedicated to strengthening education, research, and
professional capacity in ageing sciences. Through structured
postgraduate programs, regional collaboration, and academic
leadership, the Academy works to improve the quality of life,
dignity, and healthcare outcomes of older persons.
Our Four Strategic Pillars
1. Education & Advanced Training
Building Competence and Leadership in Ageing Care
- Deliver structured postgraduate programs in Geriatrics and
Dementia Care
- Strengthen clinical, academic, and leadership skills of healthcare
professionals
- Promote high standards of ethics, professionalism, and evidence-based
practice
- Organize regional scientific congresses and academic events
- Stimulate scholarly interest in ageing-related health challenges
MEAMA has successfully completed eight postgraduate cycles in
Geriatrics and two cycles in Dementia Care, contributing substantially
to regional capacity building.
2. Human Resource Development

- Increase the number of trained geriatricians and gerontology

- Cultivate culturally sensitive and regionally informed healthcare
